I mainly use Jackson Randy Rhoads RR3 with Semor Duncan double humbuckers for playing heavy metal riffs in drop D tuning, like Pantera, Metallica and Slayer. The guitar is the last model of its kind produced in Japan, it’s nearly 10 years old and it still sounds and looks good. I also use a 1982 Limited Edition American Fender Stratocaster; it has a clean Pink Floyd style sound when playing without any effect pedals. I can also get a really good grunge sounds out of it using Boss overdrive and distortion pedals, in the styles of Nirvana, Modhoney, Soundgarden and Pear Jam. |
